Mesh terrain for this area can be found here: If anybody could also take a look at this it would be A+. An eastbound approach means passing over a 19k ft mountain, I fail to see how the aircraft is going to descend in time for that. I could still try making the approach from the east or from the north, but there is no clear trajectory from either direction that I can make out. In any case, is there a way to adjust altitude on a waypoint by waypoint basis, or likewise force it somehow? Under current conditions, the IAF is being intercepted at about 8500ft. I don't know if that's doable for AI Aircraft. The terrain is tricky, given an airport elevation of roughly 7000ft, I want incoming aircraft to reach the IAF at 10k ft, at roughly 4 miles out, making a descent of about 750ft each mile, at 120kts, that's a descent of 1500ft/min. Increasing the approach altitude in the header merely makes the downwind leg longer, the ATC vectors the aircraft further out from the airport, giving them the space to lose that altitude anyway. The initial fix for the approach now lies somewhere between FF28M and FF28Z in the first image, the remaining waypoints have been relocated properly (although that doesn't matter), but the intercept altitude is still way below what I want. The problem now however, is altitude, or maybe even the inherent design of the approach. I played with the waypoints a little bit more and I got a course that is for practical purposes, close enough to what I desire. The code as executed by AI Aircraft looks like this: Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.Īny other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.īy following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course. Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum.Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum.Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general. Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum.Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions: But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this.
